Good evening,
Severe storms will move through the central states this
weekend as a disturbance moving across the Rockies integrates with lingering moisture
from what was once hurricane Simon.
Upon the union of these two systems, thunderstorms will form
and rumble over parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri with strong
wind gusts, large hail along with flash flooding and the possibility of tornadoes.
As the new work week begins, severe thunderstorms will move north and east
extending from northern Texas into the Ohio and lower Mississippi Valley. Those
living or visiting from Texas into Louisiana should expect the possibility of
power outages, travel disruptions and property damage.
By Tuesday, the storms will shift into the Tennessee Valley and
extend through the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes with the risk of flash
flooding and gusty winds remaining.
Tropics:
An area of low pressure with a high chance of further development has formed over the western Atlantic producing showers and thunderstorms as it continues to make its way west towards the Leeward Islands.Within the next couple of days, this system is forecast to become the next depression for the Atlantic basin as environmental conditions continue to act in its favor.
Enjoy your evening,
Jen Gonzalez
