The holiday weekend will be a wet one across the North
Central portion of the nation as an outbreak of severe weather is set to take
aim in that region.
A few tornadoes will accompany this outbreak which is being
triggered by a storm system that has developed over the Rockies and is expected
to wreak havoc throughout North Dakota and the northwestern portion of South
Dakota through this evening before heading east extending from Kansas City into
St. Cloud. Along with tornadoes, the strongest thunderstorms to accompany this
outbreak are expected to bring severe weather in its entirety including strong,
damaging winds as well as hail and torrential downpours which will null all
outdoor activities and cause all types of travel delays.
As we approach Labor Day, a new round of severe weather will
develop bringing similar weather to that which will be seen this weekend with
the greatest concern becoming flooding downpours all of which can be seen from
Kalamazoo, MI into portions of Missouri extending east into Indiana. By
Tuesday, things are expected to be much calmer as the threat for severe weather
will begin to diminish.
Tropics:
After churning in the north Atlantic for a few days,
Cristobal is no longer in existence and the tropics are relatively quiet right
now.
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!
