Soaking rain will be the main weather ingredient throughout
the Pacific Northwest through at least the middle of the upcoming week as the
remnants of Ana join forces with lingering moisture in the area which can bring
up to 12 inches of rain along the coast with larger amounts inland.
Flash flooding, mudslides and travel delays across the
western coast will be the main concerns with these upcoming storms which are
anticipated to restart on Saturday after a brief break Friday. Storms have
already been lashing portions of the western coast with some areas recording winds
in excess of 60 mph and the storms that develop on Saturday will have the
potential of producing hurricane force winds from the coast of California into
Oregon. Those commuting throughout northern California into Oregon are asked to
travel with caution due to the risk of mudslides and fallen trees.
Rain may travel far enough south to bring welcomed relief to
the drought areas of northern California as well as southern Oregon.
Enjoy your evening,
Jen Gonzalez
