Heavy downpours are set to move across the central and
southern portion of the nation beginning Tuesday as a storm making its way through
the Plains joins forces with moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.
Heavy rainfall will extend from Texas into Missouri with
over 2 inches of rain which are likely to produce localized flash flooding
especially to areas with poor drainage. By the middle of the week, the heavy
downpours will move further east affecting portions of Louisiana, Mississippi
and Alabama where more flooding is possible as they too are expected to receive
a couple of inches of rain.
Those who plan on traveling or commuting on any roads or
highways within the aforementioned areas are asked to be on high alert as such
heavy amounts of rain can lead to blinding downpours causing a slower and
hazardous drive.
Enjoy your evening,
Jen Gonzalez
