Yet another blast of arctic air will sweep across the
Midwest and Northeast this weekend with record breaking temperatures in many
areas.
Millions from Chicago to New York will experience extremely
harsh winter conditions with the worst part of the cold concentrating mainly
over the eastern states through Friday. Even those cities in the southeast that
normally escape brutal temperatures will feel the unrelenting wrath of this
winter with cities from Birmingham into Atlanta seeing the lowest temperatures
in a few years.
The severity of the arctic chill will even be felt in
Florida where some cities will tap into the 30s with feels like temperatures
not surpassing the upper 20s. Government officials have placed various warnings
and advisories throughout the sunshine state and are asking residents to take
all necessary precautions to keep safe as temperatures this low can be very
dangerous and life threatening.
As the weekend progresses, temperatures are expected to
gradually increase ahead of a storm system that has the potential of bringing a
wintry mix across the Midwest and Northeast.
Stay safe!
