Extreme Weather for April 9

Good evening,

Millions are bracing for tornado watches and warnings in several states as part of an outbreak due to storms developing along a frontal boundary. This outbreak will also trigger severe thunderstorms along with damaging winds, large hail and the risk of flash flooding.

On Thursday, the stage will be set for volatile weather to extend from northern Texas into the southern Great Lakes with the highest risk for tornadoes threatening portions of Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Those living and or traveling around these areas should expect to see travel disruptions as blinding downpours menace to flood roadways and delay or cancel hundreds of flights.

Thursday morning will be the best time to get any errands or outdoor activities done as it will be rather quiet with a break from all the unsettled weather pattern, however, things are expected to re-fire Thursday afternoon before the system pushes eastward on Friday affecting the Appalachians and extending from the Gulf coast into the mid-Atlantic.

Stay Safe!
