Extreme Weather for May 13th

Good evening,

A ferocious outbreak of deadly tornadoes has been wreaking havoc through the Plains the past several days where over 130 tornadoes have been reported since last week Wednesday and although the next couple of days are not expected to be as active, severe thunderstorms will once again threaten nearly 50 million Americans this weekend.

The storm system responsible for the severe weather outburst will bring some much needed relief to drought stricken California through the end of the work week ahead of severe thunderstorms that will first erupt across Colorado before moving into Nebraska extending as far south as Texas. The full spectrum of severe weather will focus on many of the communities that have been ravaged in recent days with the most unrelenting storms likely Saturday afternoon.

The storms will shift to the northeast by the second half of the weekend threatening portions of the Midwest with gusty and violent thunderstorms, hail and heavy downpours. Communities from Green Bay, WI into Chicago are advised to be on high alert through the day on Sunday as the day can quickly turn violent.

Stay safe!
Jen Gonzalez
