Good evening,
Severe weather has become all too common throughout the Plains in recent days as severe thunderstorms along with flooding an tornadoes have wreaked havoc in and around that region and will unfortunately continue to do so as the weekend approaches.
Earlier this evening, portions of Oklahoma and Kansas were pounded by large hail and tornadoes that made landfall and left several thousands in the dark as power outages were reported across the region. Heavy downpours are forecast to continue for the Southern Plains through Thursday with up to an inch expected per hour leading to a high risk of flash and urban flooding.
As the work week comes to an end, flooding downpours, large hail, damaging winds and a medium to high risk of tornadoes will remain for the Plains, but mainly from southern Texas into northern Kansas especially on Saturday. Those visiting or residing in these or neighboring areas are to be on high alert as conditions can turn dangerous in a matter of seconds.
A safe week to all!
