Good Evening,
A wet memorial weekend is in store for the southern and central plains and will continue to cause flooding in Oklahoma and Texas. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued numerous flood watches and warnings through the weekend. A widespread 2-5 inches of rainfall is expected through Monday, with locally higher amounts possible. A slight risk of severe storms are possible across eastern New Mexico and West Texas this evening. On Saturday, severe storms will be possible from eastern Colorado extending south through Texas.
High pressure will bring freezing temperatures across the Northeast overnight. The National Weather Service has issued several freeze warnings across the region. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the upper 20s to low 30s in several locations.
Enjoy your weekend!
David Stevens
