Good Evening,
Well it has been a pesky rainy time along the Eastern US with many places getting hit with flooding rains in excess of 6inches. While the Gulf Coast continues to deal with the high humidity and the Southwest and Pacific Northwest continue dealing with very dry conditions.
Now let's take a look at our AUG 14 Extremes.
First, a few lingering showers will still be found over the Northeast especially in the early morning hours, should give way to partly cloudy skies in the afternoon.
Secondly, look for afternoon thunderstorms to flare along the Gulf Coast, main threat will be heavy downpours along with gusty winds.
Third area is over the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies into the Western Plains, here we will be watching afternoon thunderstorms develop on the backside of the high pressure over the Midwest, this will set the stage for some heavy rainfall and damaging winds along with the flooding potential for the area.
Lastly, the Pacific Northwest will be dealing with another round of dry weather and increased fire dangers.
Enjoy your evening,
Meteorologist Joshua Kelly
