The stage is set for a soggy commute through the mid
Atlantic the next couple of days as drenching showers and thunderstorms will
move through that area bringing an increased threat for flash flooding
throughout many cities.
A strong low pressure system that has already created a
nightmare in the Southeast will strengthen as it moves into the Ohio Valley and
comes in contact with plenty of moisture currently located in the south.
Blinding downpours and heavy thunderstorms have made their way from Cleveland
to Youngstown and is expected to continue affecting much of Ohio through tonight
before continuing to track northeast on Tuesday.
Heavy thunderstorms will extend from eastern PA into New
York with up to four inches of rain in some areas increasing the risk of urban
flooding. Those living or traveling through the aforementioned areas should
prepare for a slow commute due to the localized flooding expected to develop.
As we tap into Tuesday evening, these storms are forecast to move into New
England as relief moves into the mid Atlantic in the form of cooler and drier
weather.
Tropics:
Most is quiet in the tropics, however, a new tropical wave
is forming far out in the Atlantic and although little development is expected
during the next couple of days , this system will be monitored closely by the
National Hurricane Center as it is expected to move into a more conducive
environment for further development.
