Extreme Weather Blog for Aug 2

Good Evening,

Taking a look across the US, this evening we are watching a weak frontal boundary move through bringing showers and thunderstorms to the Carolina's and part of the East Coast, this will highlight the weather on Saturday as well for this area. The Gulf Coast and parts of the Southeast will see a chance for showers and thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon, while the Southwest US will see another round of monsoonal rains and thunderstorms during the day.

TROPICS: This evening we are watching Tropical Storm Bertha, winds are now around 45kts and pressure near 1007mb, this is estimated via satellite data. Bertha will continue a west-northwest track for the next couple of days as it passes through the windward and leeward islands before making a sharp north-northeast turn around the sub-tropical ridge. Latest indications are that the storm should pass well off the Eastern US and just to the west of Bermuda.

Enjoy your evening and remember if your interested in any of our weather services, stop by the site and click on our consulting tab to see what we have to offer.
