Extreme Weather for Aug 7

Good Evening,

Still watching a few strong-severe storms move across the Plains this evening along a frontal boundary.

Thursday: Thunderstorms will return across the Mid-Mississippi River valley ahead of a frontal boundary, there will also be areas of heavy rainfall over parts of the Northeast, while afternoon thunderstorms will be possible from the Gulf Coast into Central Florida, these storms should mostly remain below severe levels. The heat will return to the Southwest with temps back into the 100's this will spread through into the Southern Plains as well.  Hawaii is now watching for impacts from two tropical systems over the next 3-5 days, this will bring high surf, flooding rains and strong winds to the islands.

Have a good evening,
Meteorologist Joshua Kelly
