Taking a look at the weather map for Wednesday, we can see that high pressure will dominate the weather across most of the United States from the West Coast to the Plains and into the Northeast. However, the remains of Tropical Storm Odile will impact the Southwest US with flooding and heavy rainfall. There will also be an area of thunderstorms stretching across the entire Gulf Coast, this is the combination of an old frontal boundary and also the diurnal heating of the day, expect most of these storms to remain below the severe level, just frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Thunderstorms will also be found along the Carolina's as an area of low pressure tries to develop of the coast.
