Good evening,
The Upper Midwest will bid farewell to the last weekend of
the summer with gusty thunderstorms that will extend from Kansas through
Chicago.
Blinding downpours and frequent lightning are the main
hazards that will accompany these storms, however, damaging wind gusts and hail
should not be discarded therefore local authorities are asking those with
outdoor plans to keep an eye out for rapidly changing weather and to seek
shelter as need be.
The storm, which is being caused by a fast moving and strong
cold front making its way through the region, is expected to move slightly east
Saturday evening affecting cities from Missouri into Ohio. By Sunday, the
system will be affecting portions of the Northeast with more rounds of gusty
thunderstorms moving through Virginia and extending into New York and New
England.
Happy and safe Saturday!
