The stage will be set for very active weather across the
central U.S. as two strong storm systems will take aim at that part of the
country at different times of the week.
The first system, which is expected to begin Tuesday and
last through the middle of the work week, will affect hundreds of thousands across
the High Plains and into the central states with the full spectrum of severe
weather including the risk of flooding as well as hazardous driving conditions.
Those living from Montana into Wisconsin and south into the Dakotas and
Oklahoma, should expect to see torrential downpours and damaging winds as
storms ignite Tuesday into Wednesday.
The second system will be a mirror of the first as it makes
its way into the Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes by the time we conclude
the week. Severe storms with blinding downpours, hail and damaging winds will
fire up through major cities extending from Chicago through Pittsburgh forcing
anyone in those areas to be on high alert as the weekend begins.
The reason for the formation of these low pressure systems
is due to the jet stream dipping further south and clashing with both the warm
and cold air masses that tend to form this time of year. As the autumn season
progresses and the jet stream begins to head south more often, these systems
are expected to become more prevalent.
Enjoy your evening,
Jen Gonzalez
