Taking a look across the US this evening, we are watching a cold front that is now advancing into the Mississippi River valley, this front will shift eastward and be the focus for showers/t-storms and even some severe weather on Thursday. High pressure building in behind the front will set the stage for some gusty northwest winds over the Northern Plains as well, some places could get wind gust in the 40-50mph range. The tropics remain tranquil across the Atlantic.
