Good evening,
A storm with the potential to snarl travel this weekend will
extend from the mid Atlantic into New England with rounds of ice and snow that
will definitely dampen all outdoor activities.
Freezing rain and sleet will begin in central Pennsylvania
during the first half of the weekend before lifting northward into New York and
New England with a mixture of ice and wet snow. As the weekend comes to an end,
roads will remain wet and slippery in anticipation of a major winter storm that
will arrive in the area by Tuesday.
A swath of snow is forecast to develop over northern New
York and New England with some locations seeing up to a foot of snow or more.
Rain will be possible during most or all of the storms duration and when
combined with increasing temperatures, fast melting snow may cause a slight
risk of urban flooding. Another concern for these areas will be downed trees
and power lines that may cause power outages.
Those living or traveling to upper eastern coast may want to
stay informed of weather conditions this weekend through this region as the
exact track and strength has not been fully determined since it all depends on
how quickly this systems moves along the eastern seaboard.
Wishing everyone a restful weekend!
Jen Gonzalez
