Good evening,
Southern California is in for some much needed relief from
the ongoing drought they have been experiencing since the spring as drenching
downpours are set to move into the area beginning Tuesday.
The past couple of weeks have been soggy ones for the upper
portion of the Golden State as a series of storms have been pounding the
northern and central areas giving a sneak peek into what is to be expected for
those living to the south. Over an inch of rain is anticipated in various
locations from Fresno into San Diego with some areas surpassing the 4 inches by
Wednesday evening, enough to elevate the risk of urban and flash flooding along
with concerns for mudslides.
The intensity of the rains can lead to reduced visibility
through midweek causing travel delays in and out of the state. The risk of
mudslides also poses a risk, mainly for those commuting on roads, therefore
motorists are asked to be on alert and take all necessary precautions.
The week is forecast to end on a much drier note as drier
conditions will move into the area by Thursday.
Enjoy your evening,
Jen Gonzalez
