Good evening,
This holiday weekend will end on a soggy note for the Northeast
as heavy downpours along with gusty winds and snow make their way through the
area as part of a storm system that is expected to strengthen over New England
as the second half of the weekend begins.
Steady rain will fall mainly east of Interstate 95 throughout
the mid-Atlantic on Sunday leading to low to poor visibility causing travel
delays in and out of many cities in the east coast. The AFC Championship game
may also be impacted forcing those fans heading out to watch the game to dress accordingly.
Further up the northeastern coast, a mix of rain and snow can be expected from
New Hampshire into Maine, however, snow may move further east, west or south
depending on whether or not the track of the storm shifts as it continues to
make its way through the region.
As Martin L. King day gets underway, winds are expected to
pick up as the storm strengthens and a disturbance moves in from the west producing
snow from the Great Lakes and surrounding areas into the Appalachians. Colder
air will also move into the area later in the week.
Have a great weekend!
Jen Gonzalez
