Extreme Weather for Feb 10th

Good evening,

After being slammed back to back by winter storms, a third system is set to blast through the Northeast by the latter part of this week.

This new system, part of another Alberta Clipper coming in from Canada, will be accompanied by a blast of cold air, travel delays and slippery roads that promise to further aggravate  millions of people who have been dealing with what seems to be an eternal winter.

The storm, which will be affecting the Midwest by the middle of the work week, will begin to move into portions of the northeastern part of the nation in time for the Thursday morning commute bringing with it spotty to intermittent snow from Cleveland to NYC into Connecticut before it begins to intensify Thursday evening bringing heavier and steadier snow from portions of New Jersey into coastal Maine.

The amount of snow expected from this system will be dependent on the velocity of the storm as it heads up the eastern coast, however, upwards of a foot of snow may be possible for some areas forcing hundreds of thousands to once again stay home from school and work and leaving government officials wondering where to put the excess snow removed from the streets.

Once this system clears, the possibility of yet another Alberta Clipper may force the Northeast to get ready for round 4.

Stay safe!
Jen Gonzalez
