Good evening,
This coming weekend will be a wet one from the mid-Atlantic into upper New England as drenching downpours will make its way from the south where it has been wreaking havoc this week.
Up to 2 inches of rain are expected for the Appalachians with higher amounts possible for local areas leading to a risk of flooding especially in areas where recent rain and snow accumulations have been responsible for low to mild flooding. Those traveling on the turnpike or major interstates that connect the eastern states should prepare for rain and fog between Friday evening and daybreak on Saturday.
Rain and fog won't be the only things this system will travel with as wet snow and ice will be seen from upstate New York into the central portion of New England with enough cold air clinging long enough for several inches of snow possible through Sunday evening.
The new work week will start with nicer weather along with a rebound in temperatures ahead of another dip in temperatures later in the week.
Enjoy your weekend!
Jen Gonzalez
