Extreme Weather for June 11

Good evening,

Rounds of severe thunderstorms will extend from Nebraska across the east coast into portions of New York by Wednesday evening as a frontal boundary separating hot and steamy air from a cooler air mass makes its way north.

As these two air masses collide, hail and damaging winds will develop through cities such as Buffalo, Erie and Cleveland causing major headaches during the evening commute and possible urban and localized flooding. Although the risk is low, the possibility of tornado development does exist, especially over the Plains. Anyone located between Nebraska and the Northeast should keep an eye for impending weather as things can turn severe rather quickly.

As the week progresses, heavy showers and thunderstorms will remain for the Midwest while drier weather makes its way into the Northeast.

Enjoy your evening,

Jen Gonzalez
