Dakota Weather Consultants Chief Meteorologist Joshua Kelly |
As you head out for this Wednesday, we are watching a few Extreme Events on tap for today.
#1 Heat will continue to dominate both the Southwest, Southeast and Gulf Coast, also expanding into the Mid-Atlantic. The Southwest will see dry heat with high temps in the 90's, while the Southeast will see humid heat, so along with high temps in the 90's heat index values will soar into the 100-109F range as well, so make sure to take plenty of water breaks.
#2 Severe Weather over the Plains, later this afternoon we will be watching storms fire over the Plains, again the potential to see another large MCC, to develop and move across the plains, this will bring with it damaging winds, large hail and of course isolated tornadoes, the potential to see winds in excess of 70mph is high for this area as well in straight line storms.
Enjoy your day and as always stop over to our site for the latest radar, warnings and also our other content from daily forecast and our latest Long Range Video...
